College Prep Students Get Glimpse into Workplace at MACtac

Students stepped out of the classroom and into Stow's MACtac for some real-life experience in the business world.

Stow-Munroe Falls High School students had a chance to see what a 9-to-5 workday looks like for professionals at MACtac in Stow.

The students visited the company as part of a business management college tech preparatory program.

During their time at MACtac, students attended an educational session on business operations focusing on product branding and professional development for meeting career goals.

"We are proud to play a role in the professional development of students by partnering with our local community schools," said Jennifer Bowman, corporate marketing, MACtac in a prepared statement. "The outstanding students who visited MACtac are our next generation of business leaders. We want to help them succeed in their careers by providing them with the opportunity to experience a real-world business environment and learn firsthand from successful professionals."

During the visit, the MACtac graphics team discussed the importance of product branding and presented MACtac product examples by showcasing them in every day environments, according to a press release posted on MACtac's website. Students also heard firsthand testimonials from the human resource team who told their stories about their personal career path. With a focus on social media in today's business world, students also received tips about their online presence and were cautioned about how it can impact their careers.
Here's some feedback from the students:

  • "No matter what degree you receive in college, it will help you in the future." — Jacob Williams
  • "It doesn't matter where you come from, just where you go." — Jasmine Rose
  • "You need to show how passionate you are about something if you really want it." — Acacia Shaver
