American Celebration Band Concert

The Stow-Munroe Falls High School Wind Ensemble will be hosting their Annual American Celebration Concert on Saturday, April 30th at 7:00PM in the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Auditorium.  The concert will feature a mixture of great old and new band arrangements as such as a music from 40 years of Star Trek television shows and movies, a medley from the Wizard of Oz featuring Tuba Soloist Justin Pitts,  vocal solos: Frank Sinatra's Come Fly With Me with Cory Grinder, Rodgers and Harts 1940's hit BewitchedBothered and Bewildered with Hope Caldwell, Cousins featuring a duet of Zach Halasz (trombone) and Caleb Morgan (trumpet),  Leroy Anderson's hit Clarinet Candy featuring Caroline Stuneck (clarinet),  the Dixieland favorite Bill Bailey featuring tuba soloist Vince Petrecca, a musical setting of Casey at the Bat, narrated by Randy Hoover, and various smaller ensembles performing someone of the best loved Cartoon music through the decades including: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Simpsons, Spongbob Square Pants, Looney Tunes, Toy Story, and Scooby Doo.  
The second half of the concert is a Patriotic tribute to America with selections such as Symphonic Prelude by Mark Camphouse, paying tribute to those who helped liberate Europe at Normandy in June of 1944,  the Stars and Stripes Forever,  Salute to America's Finest: a musical medley of the five Armed Forces Songs and recognizing those who have served our country,  and a musical tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country by trumpeter Ryan Briggs.  Concluding the concert we will be bringing back our soloists from the evening as we will ask everyone to join in the Ultimate Patriotic Sing-Along composed by Navy Band arranger Jerry Brubaker.  If you have a loved one who currently serves in the Armed Forces and would like to have a photo of your loved one included in the celebration, please email it to Brian Monroe at  st_monroe@smfcsd.org.  or mailed to Brian Monroe,  Stow-Munroe Falls HS,  3227 E. The Stow-Munroe Falls High School Wind Ensemble the high level concert band at Stow-Munroe Falls High School and consists of 68 students in grades 10 through 12 and is directed by Brian Monroe.  The music deptartment at Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools has been recognized as an "Outstanding Community for Music Education" by the National Association of Music Merchants for the past two year.  The American Celebration Concerts have been performed annually for the past 9 years.  The concert is free and open to the public.  For More information call:  330-689-5220.  ext 2
