Update: School District Investigating Allegation of Bullying

Teachers met in the parking lot of Riverview Elementary on Friday before and after school.

The Stow-Munroe Falls City School District is investigating allegations of "disrespectful behavior" toward a teacher by an administrator at , Director of Academic Achievement Karen Moore said.

"We don't know how someone was bullied, we aren't sure what they are claiming right now. We're investigating this as we would any other situation where someone is accusing someone else of disrespectful behavior," Moore said. "Our teachers and administrators are doing their jobs. [Student] instruction is not being disrupted –our goal, as always, is that students receive quality education."

On Friday, teachers met in the parking lot of the school at 8:15 a.m. before class began, she said. Teachers were all on time and taught all of their classes. Students left early because of an already planned early dismissal that day, Moore explained. Then the teachers again met in the parking lot and left at 3:45 p.m., the end of the teacher's day, she said.

“Our administrators respect all of our employees and treat them as professionals in every sense of the word. However, we do have high expectations of our employees and when one is not meeting those expectations we have the responsibility of addressing the issue promptly which we do," said Superintendent Dr. Russ Jones.

Teachers implemented a "work to rule" on Friday, a union move where the employees stick to their contractual duties and do no more or less.
