Little Shop of Horrors: 'We Want More'

Check out this letter to the editor from a big fan of the high school's spring performance.

Standing ovation for the cast and crew of Musical, not to mention the staff that directed and designed this production.

Wow - Most of the time I find flaws in productions that are easily seen right out in the open.  Seriously – not this one…  This musical was beyond high school performance level, from the elaborate set design and execution to the polished vocals of all the performers.

I heard the hype and saw the posters around town, just the professional yet high quality appearance from this poster, it struck my interest.  Needless to say after watching the show on Friday night – I wanted more and would have paid three times the amount to see it again.

WOW - This cast was amazing. (Bryan Detweiler) was outstanding from vocals to acting. His comedic queues were never missed and enjoyed his story from rag to riches. There were times in the performances that I wanted to get up and dance with him as well as I shed a tear when he lost his love interest.

Speaking of which – (Taylor Johns) is one to watch. This young lady is absolutely amazing.  She played her character with perfection. Ms. Johns has the vocals of an angel and I would pay to go listen to her sing the alphabet.  Between Bryan and Taylor’s character you could actually feel the chemistry and their timing on stage was AMAZING!

Not to mention – (Zack Triscari), this kid is only a sophomore! His voice has a sweet tone that complimented everyone he sang with.  Zack, Bryan and Taylor sang a song together ending in harmony - pure dessert for your ears.

So you would think, “OK, so they have a few good kids…” – NOPE.   Audrey2 played by Robert Moorhead and two puppeteers.  Robert’s voice was perfection. From his deep daunting sounds to his comic high pitched accents this kid truly hit a home run, GRANDSLAM.

I could go on about the entire cast – to un-believable Dentist – who at times made me laugh and other times my jaw dropped on how physical and convincing he portrayed his character.

So as I mentioned – I WANT MORE!

Mr. Robert J Putka – You truly put together a nice show and your cast was nothing less the perfection.  As you mentioned in your speech – your retirement is just a few days away… WOW.  If I were you – I would box up that show and ship it to Broadway!
