Hale Farm's Made In Ohio Craft Festival is Saturday
The festival takes place Sept. 1 at Hale Farm & Village in Bath Township and features several local artisans.
Summer festivals and fairs are winding down, but before we officially call it fall, how about one more festival that supports local?
Grab a date and head over to Third Annual Made in Ohio Craft Festival Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Hale Farm.
Admission to the farm is reduced to $5 and Western Reserve Historical Society members and children under 3 get in free. Admission buys you entrance to the craft show as well as everything available at Hale Farm.

Here's a Q&A with event coordinator Renee Flynn:
Patch: Can you tell me how many of the 80+ vendors hail from Summit County?
Renee Flynn: Twenty-one vendors are from Summit County.
Patch: Do you have details yet on the entertainment lineup?

Renee Flynn: Yes, we have several entertainers lined up including a bagpiper, fiddler and dulcimer. We also have a face artist doing face painting (for a fee).
Patch: How many visitors does the event typically attract?
Renee Flynn: This is our third year of the event. Last year was incredibly hot and we had 1,600 attendees. We are hoping to double the number this year, if the weather chooses to cooperate!
Patch: How did the festival begin?
Renee Flynn: I am an Ohio artist who participates in many events in our area. I didn't see any festivals that featured Ohio artists. I thought the location of Hale Farm & Village was a natural place to hold the event as they have many artisans on site who do crafts such as broom making, glass blowing, pottery and candle making.Today's artists are a natural extension of our Ohio history and the visitors to the festival can enjoy Hale Farm and Village as well as the Arts Festival for just $5. Normal admission is typically $10 so this is quite a deal! We have an amazing selection of artists at the show from glass and wood products to local produce and jams and jellies. And no festival is complete without the food. We have Totally Cooked providing savory lunches and snacks and several other vendors providing ice cream, kettle corn and nuts.
