More Than 13,000 Yards of Free Mulch Available to Stow Residents

Come and get it! Free mulch is available Monday through Friday and occasionally on Saturdays until it's all gone.

If you need mulch,  has it available for Stow residents. For free, no less.

 in Stow has been in operation for "many, many years," according to Community Information Coordinator Linda Nahrstedt and it's offered again now.

Residents will need proof of residency and must load by shovel, pitch fork, chipping fork, hands (thus self loading - no front end loaders, tractors, bob cats, etc.), said Stow Arborist Sue Mottl.

"There is over 13,000 yards of mulch and there is no limit," she said.

The site is open the following days and times:

  • Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • The second and fourth Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The new brush drop off/mulch pick-up site is just west of the current Parks/Recreation and Urban Forestry building at 5070 Stow Rd.

"The city offers this program as a giveback to the community," Nahrstedt previously said. "The product is a result of the brush drop off program. Residents drop off their brush at our facility. Eventually, we have it ground up into a mulch-type product."
