Unhealthy Air Quality Wednesday, July 17, 2013

The Ohio EPA has predicted Wednesday July 17 to be unhealthy for sensitive groups across Northeast Ohio.

Ozone pollution is predicted to be high enough to affect some people. That means that anybody with lung disease, including asthma, should stay inside and avoid heavy exertion outside.

Curious about how that looks? Check out this page that shows a new photo of haze over the Cleveland city skyline every 15 minutes.

Residents, businesses and local governments should reduce activities that contribute to ozone air pollution. The Ohio EPA asks people to be proactive by reducing or eliminating unnecessary motor vehicle trips and to consider carpooling or using public transit. It also suggests setting your home or office air conditioning thermostat slightly lower.

It is also important to refuel vehicles and mow grass after 7 p.m.
