'Grapes and Gourmet Guys' Promises Tasty Food and Wine, Prizes and Fun!

The fifth annual “Grapes and Gourmet Guys,” benefiting in Stow, is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the ballroom and on the patio at , 2636 North River Rd.

Well-known Akron area judges, Tom and Linda Teodosio, serve as this year’s featuredspeakers

Over 25 area male “gourmets” will prepare and present signature dishes for guests and seven female celebrity judges, including Stow Mayor , to sample.

Patrons will also enjoy house wines from Canyon Road featured at Roses Run, joining nine other name wines available for purchase.

A “Judges’ Choice” Award will be presented to the chef who best delights the tastebuds of the judges (bribery of the judges is perfectly acceptable), and a “People’s Choice” and “Show Me the Money” Award will be determined by the evening’s guests’ financial votes. Tip jar stuffing is, obviously, encouraged.

In addition to the wine and food tastings, the “Get Back Band” will be playing in the ballroom, and an acoustic guitarist will entertain on the patio throughout the evening.

Also, a silent auction of more than 30 items will be conducted. Items this year include:

  • Two airline tickets good for roundtrip transportation on Southwest Airlines
  • Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tickets
  • six-month membership
  • Roses Run Golf package
  • Long’s Shoes gift certificate
  • Two one-day passes to Busch Gardens

Also, massages, manicures, and pedicures from different donors will be up for bid; golf foursomes at area golf and country clubs; Longaberger baskets; a cigar basket; fishing basket; restaurant gift cards; and many other items will be included in the silent auction.

A special raffle for a “Wall of Wine” will also be conducted, and this year’s oral auction will be for only one item: A Goodyear Blimp Ride for two! The “Open Your Heart” auction will be conducted after this year’s featured speakers, Judges Tom and Linda Teodosio.

“Grapes and Gourmet Guys” $55 tickets include tastings from all 25+ chefs and a glass of house wine; $85 patron tickets include a glass of wine AND a bottle of wine.
