LOOK: Pets Helping Pets at Kent, Stow Vet

Fundraiser Sunday supported Humane Society of Greater Akron.

Animals lent a paw to help out their fellow four-legged friends via the Humane Society of Greater Akron this weekend.

The trimmed the nails of area pets Sunday and donated the proceeds to the humane society's shelter to help cover the costs of caring for the animals there.

Diana Grutzmacher, marketing director for the Stow-Kent Animal Hospital, said they raised $820 for the humane society in just two hours.

"We had numerous dogs, three cats and a Guinea pig that all came in for nail trims," she said. "We were all really happy on the amount of participants and the willingness of people to donate for such a good cause."

Each animal that came in got a blue bandana that proudly states "I helped a furry friend in need!"
