Raffle Raises Support for Kent Junior Mothers

Event covers costs of volunteer group's annual Safety School

Members of Kent Junior Mothers and other Kent residents gathered Saturday for a night of fun — and fundraising.

The Kent Junior Mothers , held at the , raised money for the volunteer group's for incoming kindergarteners at .

Aside from Safety School, the 66-year-old organization conducts other volunteer efforts throughout the year, including to , at and providing refreshments at the annual Festival of Lights.

I attended Safety School when I was 5. I was a volunteer from age 10 to 16. I'm an adult with my own child now. I am deaf, blind and physically impaired. If you plan to do any disability awareness, I'd be happy to participate.
