Dozens of City Streets Will Be Repaired, Resurfaced or Replaced
City officials budgeting more than $1 million in capital funds for 2012 road program.
The Stow Service Department is preparing to embark on one of the largest road repair programs in the city’s history, budgeting just over $1 million in capital funds for the repair, resurfacing or replacement of dozens of streets. Service Director Michael Miller went over a spreadsheet outlining the proposed road program with City Council members during a finance committee meeting Monday. Due to financial constraints the past couple years, the service department’s annual road program has been quite limited. This year, however, “we can begin to catch back up in getting our roads repaired,” Miller said. Once council approves the 2012 budget, the various road projects will go out for bids.
