Find out which floats were named 'best' by the Stow 4th of July parade committee.
Twenty-eight entries registered to be in the parade as a float. Those entries were judged by the Stow Fourth of July Committee based on use of parade theme, originality and appearance. Winners were awarded trophies the day of the parade, before the parade kicked off, and were announced at the reviewing stand. For more photos of the parade, click here. Thousands turned out in sweltering weather to see parade floats, cars and even Santa. Check out these pictures and add yours!
Thousands of viewers and hundreds of paraders joined together for the annual Fourth of July parade in Stow Wednesday. By the 10 a.m. start time, the temperatures were already approaching 90 degrees. But the show must go on, and it did. It looked as if the entire Stow Fire Department was in the parade, which was probably handy if folks suffered from heat stress. This year's parade was "A Salute to Girl Scouting ... 100 years strong," and appropriately enough the Girl Scouts cookie float was judged the 2012 Best of Parade.
