Stow Law Director Brian Reali will be deploying to Afghanistan soon for an Ohio Army National Guard assignment that could last from seven to 10 months.
Ohio National Guard Member and Stow Law Director Brian Reali received official orders to deploy to Afghanistan. Amber Kerek, who is taking over as law director while Reali is gone, said his last day of work is Friday and he is being deployed June 16. "I'm excited to go serve our country. It is an honor," said Reali, who is in his second, four-year term as law director. "I will absolutely miss my four kids and family." Reali has four children that range from ages 3 to 11. "The two younger ones don’t have a concept of what the time span is and the two older ones are doing OK. Rep. Steven LaTourette leaves his condolences about the loss of Second Lt. David E. Rylander. "This is a horrible loss, and we all grieve for a brave and wonderful young man who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country."
After finding out that 23-year-old Second Lt. David E. Rylander was killed in Logar Province, Afghanistan after being attacked with an IED, Rep. Steven LaTourette (OH-14) extended his condolences to the family, Army, city and nation. A few speakers will be at the Veterans Day breakfast and ceremony Nov. 11.
Veterans will be honored as heroes in Stow Nov. 11 during a breakfast ceremony at Lakeview Intermediate. The Veterans Day event combines the efforts of the K-Kids and Club USA, the Lakeview Singers, and many other students under the direction of Susan Deitrick, counselor and the clubs’ co-facilitator, and Christine Lemay, music teacher. A breakfast and small ceremony will take place Nov. 11 in the Lakeview Intermediate cafeteria and gym to honor veterans and active military personnel. All veterans and active members are invited to attend. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. and is wrapped up by 11 a.m. Last year in 2010, Lakeview had four-star General Donn A. On April 30, 2011 the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Band played a concert paying tribute to military members.
The Stow-Monroe Falls High School band performed in their auditorium for an audience of family and community members alike April 30. The theme for the night — paying tribute to members of the military.
