Dipped and Dazzled Bakery to Open by the End of September

The ladies opening the new bakery on Darrow Road said the business will be "shabby chic" and offer dipped and dazzled bakery at an affordable price.

  Sparkly. It's a word to describe what the treats and Dipped and Dazzled Bakery will look like and it describes the personality of the owners.  Friends Heather Rice and Tara Colopy, both 33, have shared the same dream of opening a unique, local, "sparkly" bakery for years and now that dream will become a reality in just a few weeks.  Colopy, the woman in charge of the business side of things, said she's pushing for the store to open the third week of September. Rice, who has been baking out of her home for more than 15 years, and Colopy met just a few years ago. Betty Crocker Recipe Winner Compares Experience to Finding Wonka's Golden Ticket

Holly Phillips won Betty Crocker's online gluten-free recipe contest after receiving the most votes online.

Holly Phillips of Stow was delivered her "golden ticket" not by chocolate bar, but via Fed Ex Nov. 1. She received word from Betty Crocker that she won the Betty Crocker gluten-free recipe contest and was the winner of $5,000 and some other great prizes. "My hands were shaking when I opened it. When I saw the word 'CONGRATULATIONS!,' I felt like I had found the golden ticket! I was so excited, I couldn't believe it was real," said Phillips. Thousands of entries were submitted, but Phillips' recipe for apple spice cupcakes with maple cream cheese frosting and candied walnuts was selected out of thousands of recipes as the winner. Stow Couple Opening Gluten-Free Bakery

Are you a fan of cookies, but gluten isn't a fan of you? Those with or without Celiac Disease can enjoy gluten-free bakery in Stow in just a few weeks.

Holly and Tom Phillips of Stow are opening a bakery in Stow in a few weeks, but there's still something missing and will remain missing from the shop — wheat. The bakery, Mrs. P's Gluten Free Bakery, has the motto: "No Wheat, Just Sweet." "Not so long ago I was depressed about my Celiac diagnosis, but I was determined to make delicous gluten-free food that could be a household staple for my family," she said.  So Holly and Tom, who is a new Stow Firefighter, decided delicious gluten-free bakery should be available to everyone.
