Stow Girls High School Lacrosse Game Canceled

The girls lacrosse game today against Mentor was canceled.

Due to snow and poor field conditions, the Stow-Munroe Falls High School Girls Lacrosse Team had to cancel its season at home opener against Mentor.  Click here for this year's schedule of games. Check back with Stow Patch to find out when the game will rescheduled.

Stow Parks and Recreation Classes Canceled Tuesday

Due to the weather, all classes and activities at the Parks and Recreation Department are canceled this evening.

Because all local schools are closed today, all Stow Parks and Recreation classes and programs are canceled Feb. 1. For more information, call 330-689-5100. For weather updates, road conditions and more possible closures, check back with Stow Patch.

UPDATE: Stow-Munroe Falls Schools Closed Today, Girls Basketball Game Canceled

All school classes are canceled for the day.

All Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools are closed today because of the weather.  This is the third calamity day the district has taken this school year. If any more days are called off, extra school days will need to be tacked onto the end of the year. Athletic Director Cyle Feldman said all after school practices and the girls basketball game are canceled. The girls were scheduled to play Shaker Heights at home at 6:30 p.m. The main campuses at Kent State University and the University of Akron are also closed. Winter Weather Advisory in Stow through Wednesday

About 6 inches of snow is expected in the area Tuesday evening.

Get those shovels ready and bundle up, Stow could see about 9 inches of snow accumulation by Wednesday.  A winter weather advisory is issued in Stow from noon today until 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. It's likely the area will get about 1 to 3 inches during the day Tuesday and another 6 inches of snow overnight. Chance of snow is 90 percent, according to the NWS. Snow is expected to start falling in the afternoon today and intensify and continue to pile on the white stuff during the night, according to the NWS. Snow advisories are issued for Summit, Cuyahoga, Geagua, Lake, Ashtabula, Medina, Portage, Trumbull, Stark and several other counties.
