Stow-Munroe Falls Schools to Get More Than $111K in Casino Taxes This Month
Casino money will be distributed twice a year.
The Stow-Munroe Falls school district will soon receive more than $111,000 in taxes from the state’s new casinos. Figures for this first set of payments were released earlier this week. The Plain Dealer reports that the state is passing out more than $37.9 million in casino taxes to schools and districts across Ohio. Schools will receive their payments — based on enrollment — in January and August each year. Stow-Munroe Falls will receive $111,597, according to information on the Ohio Department of Taxation's website. Summit County schools, including charter schools, will receive about $1,629,158 total.
