Candy was inspiration for local student's paintings.
Those who linger with their lattés or pop in for a caffeine fix at Mocha Joe's Coffee House will notice something new on the walls — the holiday artwork of a local college student. Patrons of Mocha Joe's, located at 3707 Darrow Rd., can sit at tables near a display of paintings by area artist Yulia Gray. Sugarscapes, a series of six, oil-on-canvas paintings, depicts sweets and candies of various forms combined in fantasy landscapes from the artist's imagination. A family business, the coffee shop often has hosted the work of local artists in the past 13 years.
