Dipped and Dazzled Needs a Little More Time in the Oven Before Opening

The bakery has a new grand opening date, but the owners are taking orders now!

The Dipped and Dazzled gals were hoping to open Oct. 20, but just like when a toothpick doesn't come out clean when testing a cake in the oven ... the bakery itself needs a little more time before it's done.  The owners, Heather Rice and Tara Colopy, said the grand opening is scheduled for Oct. 27 (Saturday). (Halloween in Stow is the same day.) Rice said the business has one employee hired and is looking to do a few more interviews still. But, "everything is coming together!" The grand opening is planned for 9 a.m. next Saturday, but the bakery has already been taking orders online.  The women are putting the bakery into four categories: "It is hard to believe after all this time and hard work, we are ready for you to come down and check …

Poll: Do You Care About the Horseshoe Casino Opening in Cleveland?

How to you feel about the new close-to-home gambling spot that opens Monday evening?

The new Horseshoe Casino is set to open Monday night. Big crowds are expected to swarm in when the doors open at 9:30 p.m.  But while some people will celebrate the new casino, others will barely notice it's there, and others believe it never should have been built. Obviously, developers believe it'll be a big hit — in fact, it is estimated the casino will draw 5 million visitors during its first year. Will you be one of them? What are your feelings on downtown Cleveland gambling?

I love capers too. One thing that would cause me to shop more at Acme is if it was open in the evening longer, but I guess they know their clientele. We work late many times and therefore must resort to a store that's open past 9 or 10PM. Acme just closes too early.   more ›

Actually, I can't imagine our taxes are going to this. I may be wrong, but my understanding is elected figures are paid a monthly amount not based on a time card -- and Council members actually have "day jobs." So they took time out of their busy day, out of their own private time they could be spending with family, to come to support a remodeled local business which - by not looking raggedy and …   more ›
