Stow Native Marches with Air Force Honor Guard at Presidential Inauguration

Timothy McCausland is a senior airman with the U.S. Air Force.

Jan. 21 was an exciting day for Stow native Timothy McCausland.  A senior airman, McCausland is also a ceremonial guardsman with the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, according to Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System. He marched with the U.S. Air Force Band and Honor Guard on Jan. 21 before the Presidential Inauguration. “I am excited to be part of something as historic as an inauguration not very many people get to participate in something like this," McCausland told DVIDS. PHOTOS: Community, Friends, Family Pay Respects to Fallen Stow Soldier

Second Lt. David Edward Rylander, 23, of Stow, was laid to rest Saturday at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Second Lt. David E. Rylander, 23, of Stow was killed May 2, 2012 after sustaining injuries when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 7th Engineer Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York. Previous coverage:
