Softball Team Ends Season with Win Against Nordonia

Stow finished the season at 15-9 overall.

The Stow-Munroe Falls High School softball season ended on a positive note as the Lady Bulldogs beat Nordonia 4-2 in a make-up game that was rained out earlier in the season. Stow finished the season at 15-9 overall, while going 4-6 in the Northern Ohio Conference River Division. Stow was on the scoreboard first as Julie Rooney earned a walk to lead off the game for Stow. Rooney promptly stole second base and with one out, Alex Shaver doubled to left center field scoring Rooney as Stow took a nearly 1-0 lead. Nordonia responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning on 3 hits and a Stow throwing error as they took the lead by a score of 2-1. Girls Basketball Team Rebuilding, Starts Season 4-0

The past two years have been a struggle for Stow-Munroe Falls High School Coach Bob Podges and his girls basketball team, a program three years removed from playing for the state championship. But with a 4-0 start this season, the team seems to be rebuilding so far. Stow-Munroe Falls never did hit rock bottom during those years of struggles, so its climb back toward the mountaintop hasn't proved as daunting as it might have been. The girl's team started the season well with three wins. The lady Bulldogs won against Nordonia 53-40 on Dec. 4, won 49-46 against Medina on Dec. 11., beat Lakewood 54- 49 on Dec. 15 and won 60-46 against Brush Dec. 18.
