'Explosive' Sounds Near Silver Springs Caused by Concrete Removal

The service department is removing concrete at the brush drop off site, which is causing all the noise.

Some concrete that has been stored at the leaf compost site is being loaded into dumpsters — which is causing all the loud noises in the Silver Springs Park area. Readers inquired about the sound coming from 5070 Stow Rd., across from Silver Springs Park, on the Stow Patch Facebook page, and a few others have asked city officials about the sounds as well. Brad Miklovich said on the Facebook page that the noise sounded like explosions. Another reader, Patty McClure Whitaker, said she heard something that sounded like an explosion or gunfire. "Our afternoon crews have tried to keep any noise to a minimum, and have limited their working at the site until approximately 7 to 8 p.m., so as not to get into later evening hours," said Service …

I don't know if they'd done this prior, but in the future, the city might want to consider posting a public notice (i.e. Stow Patch, Stow Sentry) alerting area residents to the potential noise or whatever when stuff like this is going on.   more ›
