Ralphel A. Penn, 25, of Stow was sentenced by Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery charges last week. Penn pleaded guilty at Summit County Common Pleas Court to one count of aggravated robbery and robbery. According to authorities, Penn robbed a Charter One Bank in Northfield Village in August and a bank in Akron about a week later. In both instances, Penn handed a note to the teller threating to shoot if money wasn't handed over. No gun was seen, according to earlier reports.

A Stow man has been indicted for robbery by a Cuyahoga County grand jury in connection with the July robbery of the Ohio Savings Bank in Solon. Ralphel A. Penn, 25, of Stow, is currently an inmate at the Summit County Jail on charges connected to bank robberies in Akron and Northfield Village. On July 6, a man entered the Ohio Savings Bank located at 34206 Aurora Road, Solon, and handed a note to a teller demanding $3,000 in cash, according to Solon Police. No weapon was seen. The man was given a small amount of $1 bills in a packet and he immediately left the scene, fleeing on foot. He was not caught at the time.
