U.S. Marshals Searching for Gas Station Robber

Charles Farris III is the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s fugitive of the week.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is looking for information on Charles Farris III, the task force’s latest fugitive of the week. Farris is wanted for charges including robbery, failure to register as a sex offender and parole violation, according to a press release from the task force. He is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Elyria Police Department and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.  Allegedly, Farris robbed a Speedway in Elyria last November. The incident took place early in the morning, around 3 a.m. on Nov. 10. Farris reportedly ordered a store clerk inside, and said he had a gun. Man Threatens Woman with Gun, Steals Purse

Information provided by the Stow Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

On Dec. 20, a man approached a woman in the Walmart parking lot and told her he had a gun, according to a Stow police report. The man stole the woman's purse and ran from the area, the report said. Stow officers caught up with the man later. Police charged Vincent Pataky, 52, of Peninsula, with a felony count of robbery.

Police Catch Man Claiming to Have Gun During Robbery

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Stow Police arrested Randy William Korcker a few days after witnesses said he robbed Acme Sept. 25 around 2 p.m. and initially got away because he threatened he had a gun.  According to a police report, security officers approached the man who was seen shoplifting. When they tried to detain him, the man reached into the waistband of his pants and said he had a gun. The security employees “backed off and watched him get in a black vehicle” and leave, according to officers.  A gun was never seen and the man left the items he attempted to steal when he ran to his car.  On Oct. 2, Police Lt. Hudson Girl Hurt When Shoved, Robbed on Kent Road

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

A 18-year-old from Hudson told police that someone she didn't know pushed her to the ground and took her backpack at the Kent Road, Hiwood Avenue intersection around 8:30 p.m. June 23. Stow Police said the camouflage backpack is valued at $40 and there was a $20 wallet and $40 phone in the bag. A debit card was also in the wallet. There were also eight personal check issued to Southwestern Company valued at $1,500, according to the report. Officers said the girl had a knot on her head from being pushed over. Robbery, in this situation, is a third-degree felony.

'This is a Robbery!' Man Flees from CVS without Cash

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Joseph Richard Schratz IV, 40, of Englewood Drive in Stow was arrested and charged with robbery by Stow Police Saturday morning after yelling "This is a robbery!" in CVS and fleeing the business without any cash. Stow Police said they went to the CVS on Kent Road and a witness said a white man wearing a blue jacket, grey T-shirt and blue jeans stood in line to pay for an item and then attempted to grab the register drawer when it opened.  The clerk forced the drawer closed and the man left and was seen taking off in a red car without any money from CVS, according to the report. No weapon was seen or threatened, said police. Police said the description they got at CVS of the man matched that of a male who committed a robbery in another city…

Man Arrested, Charged with Aggravated Robbery

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The man who Stow Police said had a gun and took $200 in cash from a Stow man Oct. 16 was arrested today.  John B. Crawford of Stow was charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony in this situation, according to police. Crawford was awaiting arraignment at Summit County Jail today.

Four Stow Officers Aid in High Speed Chase Through Several Cities

Four Stow Officers helped chase a man through Stow, Cuyahoga Falls and Akron who was charged for robbing a man at gunpoint in Hudson Aug. 18 around 4 p.m. The Hudson Police Department called Stow for assistance in stopping Gerome Burns, 34, of Akron who fled in a dark grey Cadillac after robbing a Hudson resident of his watch, ring and wallet at gunpoint, according to police. The driver fled south on S.R. 91 through Stow where an unmarked detective car and a Stow Police cruiser joined the chase, said Stow Lt. Mike Titus. "A Stow officer deployed stop sticks across Darrow Road (near the Stow Post Office) as the Cadillac and a Hudson Police cruiser approached," he said. Bank Robbed in Stow Sunday Morning, Police Searching for Suspect

The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.

Stow Police are looking for a man who robbed the Charter One Bank inside the Acme grocery store Jan. 23 around 11 a.m. Police only have a broad description of the suspect, but he was described as having a medium build (185 to 205 pounds), about 5-feet 10-inches tall, brown hair and about 40- to 45-years-old. He was last seen wearing a tan Carhartt jacket and blue jeans and wears glasses, said police. A female teller at the bank said she was approached by the suspect and handed a note that said, "this is a robbery," according to the report.
