Woman Shoplifts While Infant in Car

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

On Oct. 25 a Kohl’s employee called Stow Police because a woman left the store without paying for a $14 infant's onesie. When police arrived, they found that the woman had also left her 2-month-old son in the car while she was in the store around 3 p.m. Endagering children and theft are both first-degree misdemeanors, in this situation.

Repeat Shoplifter Caught in Stow

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

Police said a Ravenna woman, who was told not to shop at the Kohl's in Bainbridge after she was arrested in May 2011 for theft, tried to steal from Kohl's in Stow June 12.  Officers said the 22-year-old woman left Kohl’s with a $68 wallet and clutch, $194 in miscellaneous clothing, a $30 bracelet and more jewelery without paying for the items. The suspect also had drugs on her, according to officers. The woman was arrested and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond. Theft is a first-degree misdemeanor, criminal trespassing is a fourth-degree misdemeanor and possession of drugs is a first-degree misdemeanor, in this situation.

Kent Man Charged With Felony Robbery After Incident at Kohl's

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Kent man has been charged with felony robbery after a May 17 shoplifting report was made by a loss prevention employee at Kohl’s, according to Stow Police. Randy Ray Benton II, 28, of 1218 Dean Court in Kent, was arrested and charged with robbery, a third-degree felony, in connection with an incident that occurred just after 2 p.m. May 17 at Kohl’s. A store loss prevention employee told police that Benton attempted to take three sterling silver rings valued at $105 without paying for them. Benton “then pushed (the employee) in an attempt to get away,” police said.

Kohl's Shoplifter Runs Away With $500 in Clothing

The following information was provided by the Stow Police Department.

A shoplifter got away with more than $500 worth of clothing from Kohl’s on May 16, according to Stow Police. A Kohl’s employee called police at 7:19 p.m. that day to report that a female shopper had put several pieces of athletic clothing in her purse and left the store without paying. The employee attempted to stop the suspect, but the woman fled on foot toward the back of the Bed, Bath & Beyond store located in the same shopping plaza.

Gun Stolen, Police Catch Shoplifter: Police Blotter

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Handgun Stolen: A resident of the 4600 block of Young Road called Stow Police at 7:21 p.m. Nov. 22 to report that someone removed a basement window at his home between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. that day and stole a Beretta stainless steel 9 mm handgun valued at $650 and about $20 worth of miscellaneous coins. Garage Items Taken: Two separate burglaries occurred at a house in the 4200 block of Beckley Road, according to a Nov. 23 police report. The homeowner told police that sometime between Nov. 2- 23, someone entered his unlocked garage and removed a mountain bike valued at $95. At a later date, a leaf blower valued at $80 and a 75-foot outdoor electrical cord valued at $40 were taken. Police Catch Shoplifter: Two men were involved in the theft …
