Lakeview Ski Club Celebrates Another Year on the Slopes

Get your hats and gloves, it's time to ski! For Lakeview physical education teacher Geoff Cox, watching children stay active and succeed on the slopes is what motivates him to take fifth- and sixth-grade students to the local ski resort every winter. Cox, a skier and snowboarder himself has served as the Lakeview Ski Club adviser for the past 15 years. He said one of the best aspects he experiences is that he gets to know the students and watch them thrive. The ski club has been around for almost 20 years. "I enjoy skiing, snow blading, and my newest favorite is snowboarding,” said Cox, who has taught in the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District for the past 19 years. “Often, my wife and children come out and ski with us as well.” With …
