Several Patch blogs got you talking this week. We gathered the conversation starters, in case you missed 'em.

We love to get you talking, and this week we had a few blogs that touched on some hot-button issues. Take a glance at these blogs and let us know where you stand in the comments section. We appreciate your input! 1. Rose Petsche couldn't believe Rob Portman's "no" vote on the bi-partisan background check for the purchase of firearms bill. She asks, "Is there any question that money buys political votes?" Read what else she said here. 2. Dr. Barbara Berkeley says this pill is guaranteed to help you lose weight. Which pill? The answer may surprise you. 3. Psychologist Gene Benedetto asks, "Have you really seen any government program that does not wreak of corruption and fraud?" Do you believe crisises are used to create more programs that …

We love to get you talking, and this week we had a few blogs that really got the conversation started. Take a glance at these blogs and let us know where you stand in the comments section. It's pothole season, and when your car is damaged by one, you want someone to blame, right? Law blogger Dennis Spirgen explains that trying to get the city or county to pay can be tricky.  3. Who Did You Endorse for President? Barack Obama or Mitt Romney

We asked Patch readers last week to share their endorsements and invited them to blog about it. Here's a round up of what YOU said.

Last week we asked you, the Patch readers, to share your political opinions and you certainly answered.  Our story asking for your comments in reaction to three of the state's major newspaper endorsements for presidential candidates attracted more than 400 comments. And in our unscientific poll, 56 percent of you endorsed Mitt Romney for president. As promised, here's a round up of political blogs posted to Patch sites in Ohio over the last week. Don't see a blog from your town? It's not too late to have your say. And it's easy to blog.  Just go to your home Patch site and click on the "start a blog" link under the editor's top four stories of the day (on the mid left side of the page).   Remember, a blog doesn't have to be War and Peace. …

I agree with you A. Four years ago I observed something that I've never observed before. The Wall Street banks completely melted down. Our housing market totally collapsed. I never thought that in 4 years time: "Happy days would be here again" With our disadvantage vis a vis the cheap global labor market, I doubt that 4 years from now "Happy days will be hear again". The depression lasted 11 …   more ›

Plain Dealer, Beacon Journal Endorse Barack Obama for President. Do you? POLL

Both newspapers endorsed the president over his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, but with less enthusiasm than they did four years ago. We want to hear what you think.

In this, the so-called swing state of Ohio, two of today's three Ohio major newspaper endorsements went to President Barack Obama. In the Plain Dealer's endorsement, the editorial board said Ohio benefitted from Obama's decision to help the auto industry and that he pulled the nation back from "the brink of" depression. But they weren't as enthusiastic as they were four years ago. The Beacon Journal in Akron also endorsed Obama today. They like the president's "direction, spirit and priorities," but also said "errors have been made." The Columbus Dispatch endorsed his Republican opponent, Mitt Romney today. They said the country needs a new direction and that the president is unsuited to a second term. But at Patch, it's all about what you…

Wanted: Bird Bloggers in Stow

We want your bird photos, your bird observations. Heck, we'd even like to see your birding videos!

Seriously, my favorite radio station is any public radio station and I often pester the editors with re-enactments of the stories I hear.  So when WCPN featured The Cleveland Natural History Museum's Harvey Webster in a show all about birding I was inspired to reach out to you directly.  In the program, Webster mentioned the Audubon Society's weekly bird watching events at parks across the region and several great local bird blogs.  But I'll bet Stow has some undiscovered bird bloggers. And I personally invite you to start your own blog and share your bird photos, observations, heck you can even post a video if you have it.  Are you already blogging about birds? You can post your blog on Patch and reach a wider, local audience.  Questions…
