After 33 Years in the Public Sector, Mike Miller is Retiring

After the Ohio governor made some changes to the pension system, Service Director Mike Miller decided it's time to retire.

Since Service Director Mike Miller graduated college, he's held a job in the public sector. Some changes in the pension system were made and Miller, 54, said it influenced him to decide to retire by the end of the year.  Changes were made to the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System when Gov. John Kasich revised several bills Sept. 26.  "They take effect just after the first of the year [Jan. 7, 2013] and it basically is in my best interest to retire now," said Miller. "A lot of it doesn't effect me too much since I'm already so close to retirement, but one of the main ones is the purchase of back time and how that effects your eligibility for health care."
