The following was obtained from a Feb. 16 Fairlawn police report. It does not indicate a conviction.
A Radio Shack clerk alerted Fairlawn police on Feb. 16 after he reportedly watched Eugene R. Chamberlain leave the store with over $1,000 in stolen merchandise. Chamberlain -- a former employee of the Radio Shack in Alliance -- was also allegedly caught stealing at a Radio Shack in Stow earlier in the day. According to the Fairlawn police report, he was confronted by an employee, handed back the stolen items and was allowed to leave. Chamberlain was caught in Alliance on Feb. 17 after an arrest warrant was issued. He was transported to Summit County Jail, was released on bond, and is awaiting trial. Chamberlain, 42, of Alliance, is charged with theft, a fifth-degree felony.
