From Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby, OH: Gregory Lee Young, 61, of Stow, and former Shelby resident, died unexpectedly Dec. 7 at his home. Born March 28, 1951 in Shelby he was the son of the late Victor and Margaret (Hertzer) Young. A 1969 graduate of Shelby High School, Greg attended Kent State University receiving his bachelor's degree and was a member of the Kent State football team. He was currently employed as assistant manager of Sears in North Canton. More than anything else, he was an exemplary husband to his wife, Mary Beth, who died on Dec. 10, 2011, and a father.
