Anonymous Tip Launched Suspected Meth Lab Investigation, Not Chemical Odor

Stow police said initial information suggested Tuesday's suspected meth lab bust was spurred by a child smelling of chemicals, but it was actually an anonymous tip.

A suspected meth lab was busted up Tuesday afternoon at a Lillian Road residence, but the tip that led Stow police to the alleged drug operation didn’t originate from a Lakeview Intermediate School employee. Stow police said initial information suggested the investigation was launched after a 12-year-old arrived at Lakeview for class on Tuesday morning smelling of chemicals, the Stow Sentry reports. However, Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker has learned the real tip came anonymously from a caller who informed a Kimpton Middle School employee that a Stow student might be living in a meth house.   School administrators determined the tip was in reference to the 12-year-old who lived at the home in question, and it was then Lakeview staff that …

Suspected Meth House Searched; 5 Children Removed From Home

Jason and Brandi Little were arrested Tuesday after a suspected meth lab was found by police in their Stow residence.

Updated Feb. 21, 10:13 p.m. Five children were taken in by Summit County Children’s Services on Feb. 19 after Stow police found them living with their parents in a suspected meth house. The parents, Jason Little, 37, and Brandi Little, 28, of Stow, were arrested, charged with multiple felonies and taken to Summit County Jail, according to Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker. The investigation was triggered Tuesday after police received a tip from a Lakeview Intermediate School employee that one of their 12-year-old students came to class smelling like chemicals, said Dirker. Thank god there wasn't a Meth Explosion in this house. What a poor decision for these adults to make. And yes, when you jeopardize your children's safety for your SCUMBAG addictions or to make money- you are not a good parent. I am glad they were such sweet and nice people, who cares.   more ›
