The list of items stolen from residents over a two-day span at Silver Meadows Apartments included laptops, HD TVs and other electronics that typically fill police reports. A box full of sex toys was also on that list. The Pure Romance toys accounted for $800 of the $3,000 worth of goods taken from the one of the apartments. Three lizards, each worth $60, were also stolen. All about the cake — Though two co-workers …

President is scheduled to visit Kent State Wednesday
President Barack Obama's planned campaign stop in Kent on Wednesday may not prove as costly as recent stops in other small towns across the country. Kent Police Chief Michelle Lee said information remains scarce about the Democratic incumbent's scheduled visit, but he is expected to be in Kent by 3:50 p.m. Wednesday via the Akron-Canton Airport. Lee said the time may change. "That’s going to depend on where exactly he’s going to go," she said. "The plan is he’s going to be on the (Kent State University) campus somewhere." University officials haven't released any information about the stop and still had no comment when asked about the president's planned visit Friday. "We can neither confirm nor deny the report," Kent State spokesperson …

Kent Police, with support from area police departments, tried to disperse a crowd of thousands of people who gathered on East College Avenue between 7 and 9 p.m. with messages of "The party is over" broadcast over megaphones followed by blasts of tear gas canisters. Stow Police Chief Louis Dirker said Metro SWAT assisted and since Stow is a member, his department sent SWAT officers and the Prisoner Transport vehicle to help. Some in the crowd responded…

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
What started out as a call about an attempted burglary turned out to be a discovery of drugs and materials to make methamphetamines in a bookbag police say belongs to a man who had a warrant out in Kent. Stow Police responded to a call of an attempted burglary at 2359 Graham Rd. Kent Police officers were forced to end a car chase Saturday by deploying spike strips at the intersection of routes 43 and 261 in Kent, stopping a 28-year-old woman who reportedly broke into a Stow home. According to Stow Police, Jamie White, of Stow, broke into a North Stantom Road home and was confronted by the homeowner.
