Police Find Stolen Merchandise, Knife on Juvenile

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

On Nov. 14, an asset protection agent from Walmart called Stow Police because he said three juveniles concealed items and walked out of the store. Police said the three juveniles — all from Cuyahoga Falls — had taken two air horns and a Playstation 3 accessory without paying for them. Officers said one of the teens had a folding knife with a 3-inch blade. The items were valued at $62 total. In this situation, theft and carrying a concealed weapon is a first-degree misdemeanor. The case is being handled by Stow Youth Services.

Knife Used to Threaten Restaurant Customer

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

A Wing Warehouse employee called Stow Police Oct. 14 because he said a man who had several drinks was threatening another customer.  The employee told police that the man was using a knife to threaten the other man. As police were en route, the victim left the establishment.  Police said the suspect was there and was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, based on witness statements. Disorderly conduct, in this situation, is a minor-misdemeanor.  The 49-year-old Stow man was issued a summons to go to the Stow Municipal Courthouse Oct. 19.

Student Had Deadly Weapon at High School: Police Report

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

A Stow-Munroe Falls High School teacher said he received an anonymous tip that a male student had a knife in his pocket on Oct. 8. A Stow Police officer at the high school was alerted and the assistance principal called the 17-year-old student to the office, according to the report.  Police said they found a black U.S. Marine Corps nine-inch folding knife in his pocket.  Possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone is a fifth-degree felony.
