Stolen Property Found on Teen Who Had Knife at High School
The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.
On Nov. 5, an assistant principal at the Stow-Munroe Falls High School was checking if a 16-year-old student had stolen property. Earlier that day a 34-year-old Burton Drive man reported to Stow Police his black Adidas book bag with a tablet computer, a carton of cigarettes and two cigars was taken out of his car. The items missing valued about $500 total. An officer said the student had the stolen property listed above. Police said they also found the teen's 8-inch black knife. Police took the weapon. Illegal possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone is a fifth-degree felony, receiving stolen property is a first-degree misdemeanor and theft is a first-degree misdemeanor, in this situation.
