Stow Continues Bastock's Luminary Ceremony (Photos)
It was the third annual luminary ceremony to honor officers and firefighters who have fallen.
The Stow Police Department continued the tradition that fallen Officer Jonathan Bastock started three years ago. The event, "Walk with us and Light up the Night," was hosted by the Stow Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 82, the Stow International Association of Firefighters Local No. 1662 and the Stow Police Reserve Unit. This year the event was in memory of Bastock, who died suddenly Feb. 5, and K-9 Knight and Twinsburg K-9 Bagio. Bagio was Fallen Twinsburg Officer Joshua Miktarian's police dog. The community lit more than 200 luminaries — 149 for police officers and 83 for firefighters that lined the sidewalk outside of city hall near the dough boy statue.
