State Treasurer Visits Stow

Josh Mandel talked with local business leaders Friday

State Treasurer Josh Mandel sat down with local business and government leaders to talk about the economy and other issues Friday. About 20 business men and women met with Mandel to talk about a multitude of issues, including state finances, workforce competiveness and thoughts about creating jobs in Ohio. "Visiting Stow and meeting with local business leaders allows me to hear first hand the issues that are most important to them and their employees," Mandel said. "Discussions like this give me the information necessary to go back to Columbus ensure that the voices of our hard-working residents are heard." Start your holiday shopping at locally-owned stores on Nov. 24 during Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday has arrived. It's a day for everyone to support the local shops and restaurants that give communities their unique and familiar touch.  American Express founded the day in 2010 to help small businesses garner exposure during the holiday season, when they might otherwise be overlooked. Last year, 100 million people nationwide participated in Small Business Saturday by shopping at locally-owned stores to help boost the economy and their communities. Ward 1: 'It's a Good Mix' Says Riehl

Councilman Matt Riehl answers Patch readers' questions, complaints and cheers about his "patch" of town.

Stow Patch asked what Ward 1 citizens what they liked and dislike about their "patch" of town last week and Councilman Matt Riehl responded to the readers.  Riehl said he knows there's a mix of good and bad in his area of town, as well as a mix of housing, business and amenities.  "It's a big community event and it goes straight through Ward 1," said Riehl.
