Summit County Issues Snow Emergency, Stow Issues Parking Ban; Car Accidents Reported

Stow Mayor Sara Drew warned motorists to drive cautiously due to slick road conditions.

Summit County snow emergency Summit County Sheriff Drew Alexander issued a snow emergency for Summit County on Wednesday morning, the Stow Sentry reports.  "Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow," according to the newspaper. "Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways." Parking ban Stow has issued a citywide street parking ban, which will be in effect from now until 9 p.m. Dec. 27; however, city officials will assess whether to extend the ban on Thursday. The ban was necessary to assist road crews that have begun to plow the city's streets, said Stow Mayor Sara Drew. I think the snow plow drivers parked their trucks too. Driving from Canton to Stow, I travel quite a few streets and I can always tell when I get in Stow. They are the worst streets in Summit and Stark Countys. I have seen them drive down unplowed streets spreading salt and the blade is up. I would think that with the plow blade down, you would remove more snow. But hey thats why they make the …   more ›
