ReplyDomenstic violence is such an ugly thing. I appreciate all the love and support. Some people out there just can't or won't understand. I think it's time to end the debate and move on. Please read my new post "A Woman Like You" to learn more about the "face of domestic violence." Perhaps that will help with what is most needed here -- education.

ReplyI confess. I did lie. My ex-husband's name is not Greg, and my home assistant's name is not Sarah. Take me away to jail! I invite anyone to look up court records on this story We were in and out of court in both Ravenna and LaPlata. The Maryland records might be in his name. I don't know. As for Dr. Seuss, my son and I wrote a Seuss story called "Elephants Don't Moo." Just the thought makes me break out into a big grain. Thanks for bringing back a happy memory, James.

ReplyOn August 7th, 2006, I was awarded temperary custody of my son in Portage County court in Ohio. On April 10th and 11th, 2007, I returned to Maryland for a custody battle. The court in Charles County awarded me sole custody of the minor child. Thank you.

ReplyNice to meet you. I'm glad you enjoy my blogs. Great idea about passing the relay info on to small businesses. I'd have to think about how I could do that. Blindness and papers do not mix well. (smile)

Replyneodba presents workshops each Fall to train people on how to be a Support Service Provider. This is a fancy term for an assistant working with people who are deaf-blind. We like to pick different locations. The last two were in Parma and Kent. We also do an "Intro to working with people who are deaf-blind" workshop for employees at the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

ReplyHi. I love visiting schools, and I'm sure the rest of my team would, too. For the past 4 years, I've been visiting Mrs. MCombs 2nd grade class at Longcoy Elementary school. I usually read braille books, teach ASL, show off my special equipment and answer many questions. I've also done presentations at different KSU classes. One only needs to ask, and I will be there.

ReplyI amm feeling pretty good. A year ago, I was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called PHARC. This one disease is responsible for all my symptoms. There is no cure. But with the right meds, physical therapy and massage therapy, I am feeling better than I have in a long time. I'm very excited about the walk-a-thon.

ReplyWhat a What a wonderful story! I'm deaf-blind and physically impaired. I refuse to listen to "no," just like Megan. I wish you the happiest life you can dream of.

There is so little research on PHARC. No, I don't know when it was discoveered. Joseph could take the same DNA test I had done, but there's no reason. The odds of him having inherited the gene for such a rare disease and from both parents is just astronimical. That my parents were both carriers and had children together is unlikely enough to begin with. Joseph may be a carrier, though.
