2,000 Lose Power in Wednesday Morning Outage

FirstEnergy says all customers' service should be restored

About 2,000 customers of FirstEnergy in Stow lost power this morning when a power regulator at a substation near the center of town failed.

Chris Eck, spokesperson for FirstEnergy, said the power went out at 10:57 a.m. Wednesday.

"And it knocked out just over 2,000 customers," he said.

Eck said power service was restored at 12:28 p.m.

The Stow Police Department reported that the substation where the failure happened is located near the intersection of Graham and Darrow roads.

One Stow Patch reader noted on our Facebook page that she lost power on Liberty Road.
