Commendation, Appointment and New Hires: Jan. 26 City Council

Find out what's happening before tonight's council meeting.

City Council will meet again tonight at City Hall at 7 p.m.

Here's a taste of what will be discussed and voted on this evening:

• A commendation will be given to former Mayor Karen Fritschel.

• Nicole Welsh is expected to be appointed as an assistant prosecutor in the city's law department.

  • Law Director Brian Reali hinted that he'd hire someone soon for 15 hours a week after council appointed Brendan Mackin as a permanent part-time assistant prosecutor at 30 hours a week. Hiring part-time employees saves Reali's department $5,500/year on health insurance costs, he previously said.

    • Council is expected to authorize hiring three part-time inspectors in the building department.

The entire agenda may be viewed by looking at the .pdf attached to this post.
