Chamber of Commerce Names Volunteer, Business Person of the Year

During the annual Pride Community Breakfast the winners of the Volunteer of the Year, Friend of the Community and Business Person of the Year awards were announced.

Every year, hundreds of people attend the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce Pride Community Breakfast to find out who was selected as friend of the community, business person and volunteer of the year.

    Here are this year's winners:

Volunteer of the Year: Jim Laber (AtNetPlus)

"Having a great family and a generous group of people working for you makes all the difference," said Laber in a prepared statement. "I appreciate the award and want to share this honor with all of them."

Friend of the Community: Bernie Scheidler

Business Person of the Year: Brad Ruth (Bellacino's Pizza and Grinders

These honors were announced at the 40th Annual Pride Breakfast, a community-wide event, which kicks off Pride Week in Stow each year.

"These recipients are all very deserving and we are very proud to have them in our community! Please congratulate them when you see them," the chamber said on its Facebook page Wednesday

"I am very happy that Jim Laber was chosen as this year's SMFCC Volunteer of the Year. Jim and the staff at AtNetPlus have given generously to our chamber and several other organizations in the community for many years. It is well deserved," said Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Doris Stewart.
