Expired: Lake Effect Snow Warning in Stow

The warning is expected to expire at 7 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a lake effect snow warning for Summit County. The advisory ends at 7 p.m.

Right now temps are in the high teens, with intermittent snow showers falling in the region.

The fast-falling flakes are making the roads a bit tricky. Take a look at the Ohio Department of Transportation's interactive road map to check on road conditions in your area. Be sure to check the box labeled "Winter Conditions" in the left-side panel and then click on "Update Map" to see the reports.

"With the steady snowfall, our personnel have been concentrating on the main thoroughfares. During a snowfall, including during an ongoing storm like today where the snow doesn’t stop to let us 'catch up,' our personnel have been instructed to stay on the primary roads. If they are able to without getting behind on primaries, they jump off to hills and secondaries. So right now we have a number of secondaries and cul-de-sacs to get to. It will be going much better when the snow stops, which they predict between 5 and 7 p.m. tonight."
