Garnett L. Howell, 94, Helped Start Third Thursday Club

Garnett L. Howell (Stemm), 94 years, passed away on June 4, 2012 at City Hospital. She was born and raised in Akron and moved to Stow in 1991.

The following information is provided by :

Preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Stemm, sister, Grace E. Boing, daughter, Diane M. White, and her husband of 61 years, Richard (Dick) Howell, she is survived by son, Dennis R. Howell (Debra) of Medina, Ohio, niece, Kathleen Berlin (Jim) of Cuyahoga Falls and Florida, nephew John Boing (Mary) of San Diego, California, great niece, Jeni (Eric) of Tallmadge, and special friend, Georgina Reffner. Also many cousins and good friends, old and new. 

The family would like to thank all the residents and staff at Silver Lake Towers Bldg B for all their help and love over the years. Also, Copley Health Center staff for making Garnett so happy and comfortable the past year. 

She was a former member of East Market Street U.C. of C. for many years, a former member of Chapel Hill Walkers Club, Our Julia Council, D.of A. and the third Thursday Club (6 best friends, graduates of South High School in 1936 started this club, which continued for many years).
