Man Calls Fire Department for Help After Using Bath Salts

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The was called out to a home at the 2300 block of Graham Road because a man needed medical assistance after using bath salts Oct. 13.

Police officers came to the home and later arrested and charged the man with abusing harmful intoxicants, a fifth-degree felony.

A state law was passed this summer and making it a felony to use, sell or make the drug.

The state's law Controlled Substance Law makes posession of the six types of chemicals in the synthetic drug a felony, "therefore as a city we are prevented from passing a ordinance or making what the state says is a felony, a misdemeanor," Law Director Brian Reali .
