Man Hits Charging Dog With Umbrella

The following information was supplied by the Stow Police Department.

On April 1, a man told he was walking around the 4100 block of Bradley Woods Circle when a dog ran out of someone’s front yard, into the street and charged at him.

The man said he hit the dog with an umbrella he was carrying and called police. He told officers that something similar has happened before with the same pet.

Police said they called the dogowner and advised her of the city’s dog-at-large ordinances. The ownertold police she just got back from vacation and forgot to put the dog’s shock collar back on.

A dog-at-large charge is a minor misdemeanor in this situation.
