Police Blotter: Macedonia Man Escapes from Stow Municipal Court, Arrested

A sampling of the latest police incidents.

After being sentenced to serve some jail time, Michael Joseph Walsh, a 19-year-old from Macedonia, fled the  Feb. 8 around 4 p.m.

Walsh was at the court house because he was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail for a prior conviction. When he was being escorted by officers to the holding area, he fled the building, police said. Walsh fled through two sets of lobby doors into the parking lot. said he made it about 800 feet across the parking lot into a swamp area where he was arrested. Walsh was taken to Summit County Jail. Escape is a fifth-degree felony. His case was bound over to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas.

  • A 25-year-old intoxicated Stow man was reportedly stopped by police for walking southbound in a lane on State Route 8 Feb. 26 at 1:10 a.m. Police cited the man for public intoxication, a minor misdemeanor.
  • A employee reported to Stow Police that her hubcaps were missing from her Toyata Camry while at work Feb. 24. The woman told police that she thought she was losing her hubcaps on her car, but after the third hubcap was missing while she was parked in the Marc’s parking lot, she told police she thought they were stolen. The hubcaps are valued at $30 each. Theft is a first-degree misdemeanor.
  • A Kohl’s employee reported to police that a 19- and 20-year-old female concealed a total of $149 worth of female under garments Feb. 26 around 7:30 p.m. Theft is a first-degree misdemeanor.
