Razor Blades in Tires, Spray Paint, Dog At-Large and Thefts

A sampling of police blotter items from April 1-6.

A Samira Road resident reported to that $29,000 worth of photography equipment was taken from his home April 4. According to the report, the suspect(s) forced entry into the home, at the 2200 block of Samira, and took two bags full of camcorders, cameras, a telephoto lens, wide-angle lens, batteries, chargers and a flash. Burglary is a second-degree felony.

In other police news:

  • A Graham Road resident, at the 2700 block, reported to police that a large dog was loose in Stow and it  broke his window April 6. The dog pushed in a basement window which shattered it, according to the report. Police said a leash fell off the dog and was on the ground near the window. The leash and the dog was returned to the owner, who received a minor misdemeanor citation for the at-large dog.
  • A business at the 1600 block of Commerce Drive reported to Stow Police April 1 that its garage was broken into and three power tools were taken. The power tools and the chargers and cases, were valued at $518. Breaking and entering is a fifth-degree felony.
  • On April 4 an Echo Valley Drive resident, at the 2400 block, reported to police that razor blades were stuck into the treads of her tires on her car. The victim took her car into the shop to get a new tire and the mechanic said it was “unlikely that it happened accidentally,” according to the report. The new tire cost $55. Criminal damage is a second-degree misdemeanor.
  • On April 1, a resident at the 2000 block of Conwill Road told police there was spray paint on her trees and bike ramps at her house. Criminal damaging is a second-degree misdemeanor.
