Stow Police Suspect Alcohol Involved in Wrong-Way Crash on Route 8

Police got several calls about a driver headed north in the southbound lane of State Route 8 Saturday.

A car headed the wrong way in the southbound lane of State Route 8 near Seasons Road Saturday ended up in a head-on collision injuring two. 

Police said they got several calls about the driver at 10:44 p.m. When officers arrived, the driver had fled the scene but was caught by police nearby. Both drivers were injured and transported to a nearby hospital. 

The driver going the wrong way is a 29-year-old man from Minerva and was driving a 2013 blue Ford Escape, according to a press release. Charges are pending, police said.

The victim was a 22-year-old man from Akron driving a black 2002 Ford F150.
