Stow Teen Assaulted, Diamonds and Aluminum Stolen

A youth was charged with assault April 29 for punching another youth in the face several times, according to .  The 16-year-old victim reported to police that he was on the hike and bike trail behind the 3000 block of Graham Road when the fight happened. A You Tube video of the incident was watched by police for the investigation and then taken off the website. The fight allegedly started because one teen made remarks about the other teen’s friend who passed away. Assault, in this situation, is a minor-misdemeanor. The case is being handled by Stow Youth Services.

In other police news:

  • According to Stow Police a youth took six diamonds, valued at $8,000, from a woman May 4. The woman knows who the teen is, according to the report. The juvenile gave the diamonds to another juvenile at according to witnesses on the report. Theft, in this situation, is a fourth-degree felony.
  • An administrator for Seasons Nursing and Rehabilitation said a minimum of $2,280 of various aluminum materials was taken from the basement and exterior of the facility April 29. Stow Police said it is believed the items were taken for its scrap value. Aluminum window screens, oval panels, wall protectors and window screens were taken.  Theft, in this situation, is a fifth-degree felony.
  • About $3,000 in items were taken from a Allen Road building May 9. The report states that a lock was broken on a van and its trailer in the parking lot and a saw ($800), backpack blower ($550), hammer drill ($269) and a cordless saw  ($225) were taken.
  • A Best Cuts glass door was shattered on Graham Road May 11. To find out how much was stolen, click for an earlier story. Breaking and entering is typically a fifth-degree felony.
