Out of the Trenches: Hile Road Ditch Finished

The Hile Road homeowner says he's happy with the compromise and work in front of his home.

"Aesthetically the grade is a lot better and smoother," said Paul Hunter, the homeowner who recently had the at his Hile Road home.

"I am happy that it's all over with," he said.

City crews began working two weeks ago to landscape, contour and close 12 feet of the 95-foot ditch recently dug out in the front of the Hunter's home.

"Our guys did a great job and in talking with the Hunter's, they are pleased with it as well," said Service Director Dano Koehler.

And the Hunter's agree — "I think that the workers did a great job."

While the family is happy the problem is resolved and the work is finished, Hunter said he was really impressed with the care the city workers put into the project during the three day period.

"That was refreshing," he said.
