Parking Ban Lifted at 3 p.m. Saturday

Snow Ban: No parking on city streets until crews have had time to clear them.

Mayor Sara Drew issued a city-wide parking ban that is expected to be lifted at 3 p.m. Jan. 21.

With the help of the public service director and road superintendent, the mayor may issue a parking ban because "a heavy snowstorm constitutes a serious public hazard impairing transportation, the moving of food and fuel, supplies, medical care, fire, health and public protection and other vital facilities of the city," according to the city's law.

Motorists who park on the street during a parking ban are subject to a citation and being towed at the owners' expense.
